Marc was born in Georgetown, Guyana and grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He started drawing as a kid and studied architecture at the University of Waterloo. His early creative practice centered on the production of self-published zines, posters and comics, and in 1999 he moved to Toronto where he participated in the vibrant DIY community of self-publishing and art making. During this time Montreal based Conundrum Press published two of his graphic novels, Enter Avariz and The Unexpurgated Tale of Lordie Jones. In 2004-2005 he was a video journalist for the CBC's innovative open source television show Zed Television reporting from the fringe and underground cultures. Between 2005 and 2011 he was travelling around the world on a self-governed research project called Internet and the Beach..
Marc's Drawings from a Thousand Plateaus have been exhibited in art galleries across Canada. Let's Glow and Braveland are two recent exhibitions of art made with Magda Wojtyra, his partner and collaborator in Happy Sleepy. He has received several award nominations for Watch This Space, a book about public space for young adults. Other recent projects include illustrations for Boone Lab, a biochemistry research lab at the University of Toronto, and Olden County, a 400 page graphic novel currently in its first draft.
Currently Marc is working on The Field Trip Project to transform a used Japanese student backpack donated for eathquake relief for shows in Japan’s disaster areas.
Marc lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
